Team Boston joins Mayor Menino for Hub on Wheels

Team Boston Junior and Novice Skaters Volunteer at Boston's Largest City Sponsored Sporting Event
On Sunday, September 23, 2007, Team Boston served alongside Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Senator John Kerry and Hub on Wheels Executive Director Nicole Freedman, a member of the 2000 US Olympic Cycling Team, providing rider services (hydration, goody bags and cheering) to four thousand cyclists participating in Boston's only citywide bike ride to support the Boston Digital Bridge Foundation, an organization that brings technology and its benefits to Boston Public School students and their families.
"We are proud to represent and serve the City of Boston," said Rebecca Stump, Director of Synchronized Skating at The Skating Club of Boston. "Team Boston athletes are passionate volunteers, participating in community outreach and service events throughout the year. They know how important technology is in their lives and selected this event to do their part to support the Boston Public Schools."
Hub On Wheels is Boston's largest city sponsored sporting event. Riders choose a 25-mile or 45-mile course throughout the city. 100% of donations support Boston Digital Bridge Foundation, which helps Boston Public School students get the technology, and the skills they need to succeed in today's world.
