Act 1 of Boston qualifies for TOI World's in France
Act I of Boston competed in the Senior division at the Theatre on Ice National and International competitions in Chicago the last week of June. The team's short program was West Side Story and the long program was an interpretation of Koyaanisqatsi, meaning a life out of balance.
The team gave strong performances, technically solid and artistically compelling. It was a difficult competition but Act I of Boston returned from Chicago as the Silver Medalist team in both National and International competitions.
The International competition also included four special awards for best scenery, best costume, best original story, and best retelling of a story. Act I of Boston won the Best Original Story for their passionate performance to Koyaanisqatsi, a true testament to the strength of the choreography and the emotion portrayed by the skaters.
Congratulations to Act I for a strong showing at the TOI competitions and for qualifying to compete in the World Championships in Toulouse, France next spring!
Act I of Boston has some openings for a few good skaters to join the team in France. Please contact Mary Samost, Team Manager msamost@challiance.org or Tom Lescinski for more information.
