Edmond Granger "Ted" Dyett Jr.

DYETT, Edmond Granger "Ted" Jr. 80, March 8, 2009. A beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday after a brave battle with heart disease. Originally from New York state, Ted graduated from MIT in 1947, stayed in the Boston area as an electronics engineer until he retired at age 74 from Doble Engineering. He was a member of Boston's Chorus Pro Musica for almost 50 years.

He was a member of The Skating Club of Boston, made over 400 musical recordings for skaters, and was the Music Coordinator for the USFSA for close to 30 years.

He resided in West Newton, MA for 55 years, where he raised his 5 children and cared for his wife until 2007, when he moved to his summer home on Cape Cod. He was a kind, wonderful, brilliant man, who freely gave his time, talents and acoustical expertise throughout his life. Ted is survived by his beloved wife Adrienne, his 5 children: Edmond (Granger) III, Lindsay, Kimberly, Meredith and Jocelyn; and his 8 grandchildren: Cameron, Victoria, Olivia, Jason, Tyler, Maxton, Tiffany, and Timothy. Ted chose to donate his body to UMASS Medical School.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church,11 Homer Steet, Newton Center, MA on Saturday May 2nd, 2009. Donations are being accepted in Ted's name to The Alzheimer's Association.
