Encore of Boston
Encore of Boston is a Novice level Theatre on Ice skating team open to skaters up to 15 years old. Skaters must pass the pre preliminary moves in the field test but may not have passed the juvenile free skate test. We are welcoming new participants for the current season. Our Theatre on Ice (TOI) program is ongoing from September through June, with competitions and show performances during the winter and spring. The Skating Club of Boston offers special TOI memberships to all non-members. Encore practices at The Skating Club of Boston every Sunday evening from 5:00 – 6:30pm.
Encore of Boston is directed by Heidi MacDonald. Heidi is a member of the Theatre on Ice advisory committee as well as US Figure Skating’s Program Development committee. Heidi is also the co author of the TOI 1-4 Basic Skills badge program. Heidi is assisted by Michelle Kravette, director of Center Stage; Skating Club of Boston’s newly formed Preliminary level team.
The 2011-2012 skating season will be Encore’s 4th competitive season. This year’s competitive programs are original stories which will incorporate the unique talents of all team members. Highlights of the 2010/2011 season included a fun filled trip to Burlington, VT to participate in the TOI Festival, performing the teams’ personal best at TOI Nationals in Hyannis, and wrapping up the season by earning a silver medal at State Games of America in San Diego, CA!

- North Shore Open, Peabody, MA June 1-3, 2012
- Theatre on Ice National Competition, Cleveland Ohio June 22-24, 2012
